Inulin is a carb fiber that is considered a prebiotic - it helps feed the friendlies. However, people with candida need to be careful with prebiotics, as some of us have noticed that they feed the yeasties too. Inulin seems to be one of the best tho for feeding the friendlies and killing the baddies, but best to use with caution.

Yes it would be a carb fiber if it has inulin. However. you don't actually swallow the chicory do you? You filter water thru it. Not an issue.
