One final update. The irritation never seemed to quite disappear entirely no matter what. Just faded in and out, then disappeared on its own. My doc did a urine test on me and it came out perfectly normal. I theorized that it could be one of two things:
1) I was ovulating at the time and that affected it
2) I was prone to chronic uti's over the course of the past 5 years and now that I'm on a detoxing diet, it could likely be the symptoms of die-off and my body healing in reverse. Because, other than the irritation, I never felt sick all over. Energy good. Appetite good. |

yep, either of those, PLUS the fact that while cleansing you shed more acids thru urine. That's one of the reasons why it's important to take in more fluids while cleansing and to include citrus and cranberry, to ensure that your mucous membranes there don't get corroded.
the other possiblel reason is lack of vitamin A and other skin food. |

No, I'm good for Vitamin A. I do about 2 tablespoons per day of Garden of Life Cod Liver Oil. Actually, I think the Cod Liver Oil inclusion was around the time I started having this and other detox-ish things happen.
Can you list some "skin foods"? Or do you have them listed somewhere already?
Regarding shedding more acids through urine, would that be a reason my urine pH is showing up more acidic the past couple of weeks? I had been hovering at average around 6.7 and then when I started up with the extra fresh garlic, the coconut oil, cod liver oil and kefir, I noticed some die-off reactions plus my urine pH went acidic. It dawned on me that it was likely detox and that I would do well to drink more water than I already was. I know extra acidic urine can burn on the way out even if you don't have anything wrong.
Oh, also....I upped my workouts so I am sweating more than before. Another good reason to drink water aplenty. LOL |

oh you silly! if your urine pH is acidic, it's no wonder!!! LOL!
Yes, that's why using pH strips can be so confusing. They tell us healthy urine should be alkaline, and then as soon as we start cleansing and eating more healthy, it gets acidic! but that's a GREAT thing because better out than in!
Okay, that's way way too much cod liver oil for a daily dose. If you're going to take it every day, only a teaspoon, or one regular spoon from your regular utensils, a day. Overdosing could interfere with metabolic functions, at the very least because it requires all your zinc to deal with all that vit A, and zinc is the mineral that is a co-enzyme in just about every metabolic exchange. So be sure to take 15 mg of zinc several times a week for a couple weeks.
A bit of cranberry juice, carrot juice and potassium broth should sort you right out. |

Okay, so that I'm not confused, you want me to do zinc several times weekly while I'm taking 1 teaspoonful of Cod Liver Oil? Or only if I'm taking more than 1 teaspoonful. I'm confused.
Re: pH strips. Ya, they can be confusing, but I just assumed it was bad stuff coming out. Which works for me. When I OD'ed on greens about a month ago, my urine actually smelled like a hair salon, that's how much junk was getting expelled from my cells. LOL I assumed it was a good thing, but just too much of a good thing, so I backed off the greens for the time being until I could handle it a little more efficiently. I'm easing back into things now, albeit much more gently, and even then it seems the urine is one of the first places I'll notice the results.
P.S. I'm really diggin' the cranberry juice, even though I have not had it for a few days. I just love that sour punch in the face it gives. LOL By the way, I have my juice in a glass bottle in the fridge. It's been there for a couple of weeks now. Does it go moldy or bad quicky or does the fact that cranberry (unsweetened) is so astringent that Candida people don't have to fear it the way we are told to stay away from other bottled juices? |

take it for 2 weeks to make up for what you've lost, no matter how much cod liver oil you take. Time to replenish your bank accounts.
Greens are very intense and should be limited to 1/4 cup at a time, preferably mixed with carrot and other juices, at the outset. It's also a good idea to occasionaly do Liquid Chlorophyll so you get the main nutrient without all the acids that greens tend to have.
Cranberry lasts a long time, yep, candida can't really get to the pure stuff. |
