Hi Shelley:
Is Garden if Life's Perfect Food contraindicated for candida?
I don't know if some of the ingredients like rye and barley can be considered allergens just like wheat.
Are corn tortillas and oat bad also?
What about health food store's (like in Wal-Mart) natural yogurt? Can that be used to put friendly bacteria in the gut? I can't get kefir, so I was wondering if this kind of yogurt is ok.
Also, is yogurt considered a mucous forming food just like other dairy products (cow's milk, cheese, etc.)?
Thanks,
Roberto |

Perfect food is just fine. I found it to be very helpful.
Corn should be avoided. Rye - check the label, there's probably wheat there too.
Kefir is much better than yogurt. Yogurt has a minimal strain of friendlies. But it's better than nothing. It can be mucus forming, you don't want to eat a lot in one serving, especially because it is COLD. I usually don't eat it as a meal so much as add it to a smoothie or use it to make creamy salad dressings. It's a good substitute for mayo, sour cream, things like that.
Sometimes kefir is called cultured milk. I've seen it at Albertson's even. |
