Shelley, I have beed pooping GREAT for two weeks now with triphala and digest tea. At first I thought it was nerves because we decided to move-sell our house. But Im more relaxed now and still going twice a day. Today I decided to juice fast and weird thing is I feel almost like the flue coming on, or a fever. Ive never had the flu, but I did have one fever 8 years ago so I have an idea of how it feels. What would be the safest diet for me to do since Im not sure if it is the flu? I work with 6 people who have all been sick once or twice this year. I am the only one so far holding on. So I need help keeping my immune system up.

Katie that's such great news! You've come a long way sweetie! Smile

Good luck with the house sale. Be extra nice to yourself, that's one of the most stressful things anyone can do!

Which juices did you juice? Could be you're cleansing.

Best response is to switch to veggie broths, or heat up what you're juicing, as you don't want cold, raw foods if your spleen is working hard keeping you from catching the latest baddie going thru town. Making your organs cold with cold raw foods is one way to catch a cold! Wink

It would also be fantastic for you to take 500 mg of calcium, whatever kind you have, twice a day for about a week. This makes your system much more alkaline and then it's better able to fight off the baddies. It also helps balance you if you decide to take Vitamin C, which is always a good option, especially Emergen-C. Some body types do great with a couple days megadosing of C, some do not. I'm not sure which body type you are in regards to C, but if you DO react it's usually just with a bit of diarrhea so that's no problem. Wink

Zinc is also a good one to supplement at this time.

It's very important to avoid refined sugar! It inhibits the immune system for about 8 hours and makes you more acid than alkaline.

You can also drink a cold/flu tea with Echinacea. This is a very powerful herb and should only be taken for 3 days at a time.

Keep up your fluid intake.

I've listed more things I think in the FAQ under Ailments, but these are the best ones to do BEFORE you come down wtih a cold/flu.

Man, that is alot of info. Great help. Thanks. I did notice I had one cold juice and that is when I started feeling yucky. For lunch I had carrot garlic ginger juice with chlorophyll, and have been drinking veggy broth with olive oil. AND I did more than normal sugar late yesterday. So I think this all makes sense and these adjustments you suggested should do the trick.
