Hi Shelley:
What's the purpose of drinking either grapefruit or lemon juice for the liver/gallbladder flush?
Is it just to make the olive oil taste better?
Thanks,
Roberto |

Good question, Roberto.
Nope, it's not just the taste. Citrus fruit juices digest extremely fast, they just shoot right thru us. This is excellent for a liver flush because when mixed with the oil it emulsifies it (breaks it down) and acts as a "delivery system" so the oil hits the liver all at once and really forces a powerful expulsion of bile.
Grapefruit is the best for emulsion and taste, but lemon juice is best for making the gallbladder contract with force. It's just something that lemons do to the gallbladder at therapeutic doses. So a good flush will include both lemon and grapefruit mixed with the oil. |

So, Shelley, does this mean my favorite homemade dressing is doing more than just make my spinach salad taste great?
large wedge of lemon squeezed
1tsp virgin coconut oil
1tsp extra virgin olive oil
celtic sea salt
2 cloves raw crushed garlic (spiiiiiccccy!! whoo hoo!) |

Absolutely! It's cleansing the liver and making the spinach easier to digest, supporting your friendly microbes and cleansing your lymphatic system. |
