The Vital Cleanse

           Ultimately, what I wish for all my readers is that they figure out what is best for themselves and create their own customized cleanses based on their unique needs. But while you’re learning, you can do this basic cleanse that is designed to suit most body types.

This cleanse is designed to restore proper bowel function, revitalize major organs, restore proper bowel flora and increase the power of digestion and metabolism. It cleanses every system and tissue and flushes the body with alkaline minerals in order to facilitate the shedding of acids and protein deposits causing arthritic pain and tension.

The Number 1 rule is: stay in your comfort zone. You won’t be entirely comfortable, but pain is not a good sign. If you feel toxic and poisoned (healing crisis) get a colonic or do an enema ASAP. Overall, this should be a very easy cleanse with very few side effects because the paths of elimination are kept moving steadily, and you are constantly replacing minerals and alkalinity so acids can be shed without depleting you.

If you think you may be pregnant, do not take laxatives and dandelion tea. If you know for sure that you are pregnant, do not do this cleanse. Everyone else may try this cleanse, but should have a good team of friends and professionals that they can go to and consult before, during and after this cleanse, including a licensed physician.

If you have chronic swollen ankles or start retaining water or have renal insufficiency, reduce fluid intake, drink 1-2 cups of parsley tea, and consult with a doctor who specializes in kidney diseases. Slowly increase fluids once swelling has gone down, taking care to monitor whether you are urinating in proportion to what you’re drinking.

Daily Routines

Dry Skin Brushing

Massage abdomen, arms, calves, feet. May use pure sesame oil or coconut oil. Follow massage with glass of water.

10 jumping jacks 3x daily, or 2 minutes on the trampoline 3x daily, or 10 minutes once a day.

While lying down, 10 knee lifts followed by pulling knees to chest and pressing spine into floor for 2 minutes.

Hurdler stretches

From standing, bending over and touching the toes

Any other stretches or yoga asanas or Tibetan 5 Rites you feel like doing.

20 minutes of sunbathing, either before noon or after 2:00 pm, or whatever you can manage.

Weekly Routines

Deep, flushing enema, colema or colonic, 1-3 times a week. 

Detox Bath at least once a week. Should sweat 3x a week.

Castor Oil Pack on the abdominal area, or just a heating pad, or another hot bath with just Epsom salts, or a sauna, as many evenings as you can manage.


Stage 1 – Getting Started – 1-5 days

Objectives:

Empty out all the backed up meals in the intestines.

 

Get rid of tongue coat. If tongue is not coated, do not drink all the digestive teas. Peppermint and dandelion are still good.

 

Cure dehydration and restore electrolytes, become more alkaline

  Add a liquid trace mineral supplement to all of your plain water drinks, or eat 1 teaspoon of Celtic Sea Salt, or both.

  Take 500-1,000 mg of calcium, or one scoop of CalMagFizz 2x a day: 10:00 am and 6:00 pm preferably, NOT with meals or other supplements.

  Take one dose of Zinc, 50 mg if chelated zinc.

  Your water source should be filtered water, preferably reverse-osmosis, not distilled. Evian is great.

  Drink nothing but 2 Cleansing Drinks, 1-2 cups of ginger tea with honey, 2 cups of peppermint tea, 1 cup of Yogi Tea’s India Spice. Omit honey if you have candida imbalance.

  Note: by “cup” of tea I mean a regular coffee mug. They usually contain more fluids than an actual cup.

  You should get at least 40 ounces of fluids the first day, 50 the second, 60 the third. You don’t really need more, it will just flush you of vital electrolytes. Measure your glasses and mugs for ounces and do the math to ensure you’re getting enough fluids. Drink warm water to make up the difference. Do NOT just start downing fluids, you should have some every hour, and slowly build up so the body can turn off its defenses against dehydration.

  Each morning, have the Cleansing Drink for breakfast and chase it (or precede it) with one teaspoon of Cod Liver Oil or one tablespoon of Olive Oil. 

  Drink one Emergen-C at any time you like.

  Eat nothing else except for: marinated ginger. Don’t eat if it irritates. 

  Take laxatives until all your previous meals are eliminated. Any natural laxative you like will do since you won’t be taking them for long: Triphala, laxative tea, cascara sagrada, prunes/prune juice, Fruit-Eze, Fennel Tea, Rhubarb, or a combination of several of these, even senna is okay for a week. Just make sure it’s strong enough to get things moving without creating cramps, undue discomfort or total diarrhea. May also do salt water flushes or Epsom salt flushes. Get your first colonic/enema done.

  Do this for as many days as necessary to eliminate all previous meals, whether 3 or 4 or 5, but no longer than 5 days and no less than 3 preferably. But even one day is better than none. Go on to Stage 2.

Stage 2 – Cleansing & semi-fasting – 3 days minimum/7 days max

 

Objectives:

Empty out mucoid placque without straining the bowels 

 

Cleanse the liver, kidneys & lymph

 

Cure dehydration and restore electrolytes, become more alkaline

 

Restore alkalinity

  Take Oxy-Powder or Colosan each night before bed. 

  Drink one Cleansing Drink for breakfast after a teaspoon of cod liver oil or olive oil. Follow with Emergen-C.

  Take ½ teaspoon of Celtic Sea Salt each morning.

  At about 10:00 am, take 500 mg of Calcium.

  Keep adding trace minerals to your water.

  Take an herbal liver complex or tinctures per the bottle’s directions each evening around 6:00. If you got both of Julia's tinctures, take one in the morning one in the evening per her recommendations. 

  Drink one cup of Dandelion/Nettle tea, or a Detox tea like Yogi Tea’s Peach Detox.

  Drink as much Potassium Broth as you would like.

  Drink one Cleansing Cocktail for lunch between noon and 2:00 pm:

  Cleansing Cocktail Recipe: Juice 4 carrots, 1 apple, seeded, ½ beet, one inch of fresh ginger root, handful of parsley. Chase the juice (or precede it) with a spoonful of olive or flax seed oil. Organic veggies preferred. If not organic, peel them.

  If you don’t have a juicer, grate the veggies or put them thru a food processor/blender and make a small salad out of these same ingredients. Use ACV and olive oil as a dressing.

  Drink your remaining fluids as whichever herbal teas you like, or just water with trace minerals.

  Optional: On day 3, have a meal that is nothing but about 2 cups of: fresh pineapple, grapefruit, berries, cherries, pears, mandarin oranges.

  You may have a second meal that is JUST assorted melon if you wish. If you think this is too acidic for you, skip whatever fruits you wish and perhaps limit yourself to just blueberries, blackberries and cherries, or just the melon meal. This is in addition to the Cleansing Cocktail/Salad.

  Some candida people do just fine with a fruit day, others do not. Go by your intuition and kinesiology.

  If your tongue is still coated, repeat Stage 2 until it clears, drinking more Ginger Tea. If your tongue is clear, continue on to Stage 3.

  If you haven’t passed mucoid placque by the end of 7 days but are having a good response to the Oxy-powder and feel ready for fiber shakes, go on to Stage 3.

  IF your tongue looks black and has cracks, drink a cup of milk simmered for 10 minutes with a teaspoon of freshly grated ginger root and go on to Stage 3.

Stage 3 – Regulating the Bowels – 3 day cycle, may repeat indefinitely

 

Objectives:

Reshape and exercise the bowels to restore normal bowel function

 

Same as previous stage

  Take a fiber-based cleanser each night before bed. You can make your own fiber shake with freshly ground flax, psyllium seed husks, a teaspoon of liquid bentonite clay. Mix in cooled peppermint tea instead of plain water. Chase it with a Cleansing Drink without the maple syrup. May use Stevia instead. You can also use Colonix fiber or Blessed Herbs or Sonne’s Intestinal Cleanser, or Sonne’s Perfect 7 intestinal cleanser.

  May resume laxatives to maintain one BM a day. Do not take laxatives if you are having at least one BM a day.

  If you’ve never ever had problems with constipation, have already passed mucoid placque or suspect you don’t have MP because you’ve never really overate the standard American diet, you may skip the fiber shake entirely.

  Drink one warm Cleansing Drink for breakfast after a teaspoon of cod liver oil, or fish oil,  or olive oil.

  Take 500 mg of calcium or CalMagFizz or CalMagZinc at about 10:00 am.

  Eat Kichadi for lunch. Fix it with Kale, carrots, zucchini, string beans. This is fine for candida people. 

  Take an herbal liver supplement per the bottle’s directions each evening around 6:00.

  Drink as much Potassium Broth and herbal teas as you would like, just be sure to get 50 ounces of fluids a day. Don’t have to spike the water with trace minerals unless you start getting cravings.

  May drink one glass of organic cranberry juice. If you have candida imbalance, get the unsweetened kind.

  If you feel tired, take some Emergen-C.

  If you start salivating excessively, eat ½ teaspoon of sea salt.

  If you don’t have at least one BM a day, take laxatives until you do have regular morning BMs, or do an enema.

 

Stage 3 Schedule

Stage 4 – toning the bowels – 1 day

 

Objectives:

Give the bowels a break from the fiber

 

Tone and tighten the bowels

  This stage is exactly the same as Stage 3, but you need to stop the fiber shake and drink Aloe Vera Juice, the liquid not the gel, ½ cup, 3 times. If you don’t have aloe vera juice, simply drink the warm Cleansing Drink 3x a day and one Cleansing Cocktail.

  Repeat Stage 3 and Stage 4 as long as you wish. If you repeat, take another Fiber Shake for breakfast 15 minutes after the Cleansing Drink or after your morning BM.

May also add a Cleansing Cocktail or Salad for dinner.

  Either Repeat Stage 3 and 4 again, or go on to Stage 5.

Stage 5 – Recovery & Rejuvenation – Minimum 5 days

 

Objectives:

Break the fast but still keep cleansing and rejuvenating

 

Reduce water so that foods may digest completely

 

Restore proper bowel flora

  Reduce fluids to 40 ounces a day, drunk in between meals.

  Drink a Kefir Smoothie for breakfast:

8 ounces of kefir, put in blender with:
1 tablespoon of Granulated Lecithin
1 teaspoon of cinnamon or cardamom, punch of nutmeg and ground ginger.
A handful of any fruit you wish.
2 raw, whole, free-range high in Omega 3 eggs.
If you’re allergic to eggs, use one level tablespoon of whey powder.

Take digestive enzymes with this.

  With each meal, take something to increase stomach acids (ACV, lemon juice, peppermint tea, 500 mg of unbuffered C)

  Lunch: Have Kichadi or Moroccan Chicken Soup or Egg Drop Soup or Simple Soup or Broccoli Soup and/or either Cleansing Salad. Take one spoonful of cod liver oil or fish oil.

  Take 1 tablespoon of granulated Lecithin 3x a day (kefir smoothie counts as one).

  Eat 1 tablespoon of Evcoconut oil 3x a day.

  For dinner: a Rice Medley or Basic Pasta and seafood; or sushi and miso soup; or a baked sweet potato; or the Protein Shake; and/or either cleansing salad; and/or fermented veggies like sauerkraut, kim chee, and/or basic veggies, or just fruit compote.

  May drink all the freshly-squeezed veggie juice you like.

  Snack on any fruit you like.

  Take an Emergen-C if you like.

  Each night before bed have Hot Simmered Milk sweetened with Unsulphured Molasses or raw honey. Add the sweetener to the mug and then pour the milk in. Do not simmer the sweetener with the rest of the spices.

  If you did this cleanse for more than 2 weeks, or are suffering from any signs of debilitation, follow this cleanse with a rebuilding diet.

  To fully end the cleanse, after 5 days add only one new food or beverage each day until you’ve cycled in every food you wish to include in your diet. Take your resting pulse right before and 30-45 minutes after eating this new food and see if your pulse increases by more than 10%. If it does and other symptoms are prevalent, such as sneezing, coughing, diarrhea, mucus, then you are allergic to this food and it should be avoided from then on. Check the food again in 3-6 months.
