Colon cleanse and trying for a baby

Postby cheesa » Thu Oct 23, 2008 4:45 am

Hello Shelley,

I am thinking of doing a colon cleanse, thing is we are going to be trying for a baby in a couple of months time. I am just wondering whether a cleanse now is a good idea as it's going to stir up all sorts of toxins? I was thinking of using Blessed herb cleanse which lasts 9 days.

Thanks

Hi Cheesa! Congrats on starting a family. :) Be sure to check the FAQ there are a couple tips on increasing fertility and preparing for pregnancy. :)

It's a very very good idea to straighten out ones digestion and elimination prior to pregnancy. You can easily detox without harm. Blessed herbs is one path, but very expensive. Effective, though! And you will have healing crisis from it, which is good.

Exiting toxins always stirs them up, but this won't necessarily set you back. OH no. Getting them out is fantastic and there are ways to ensure that the healing crisis isn't too bad. However, before I recommend a customized version, I'll need to know your general state of health. Do you have regular BMs, like once a day, or only once a week? What do they tend to look like? Uniform in color or not? dark brown or? Do you have any digestive complaints? Acne? dark circles under the eyes?

Getting good at administering enemas is also great for mothers; it ensures no hemrrhoids. An enema bucket can be found for cheap on the internet and it's a fantastic way to cleanse and detox without any awful symptoms. Plus, since you only use lightly salted water, there's absolutely no danger to the baby.

I also highly recommend making sure your nutrition reserves are up to par. Nutritional Yeast Flakes have everything but C, including essential trace minerals. One tablespoon once or twice a day is all you need. Very cheap and effective.

Whatever you want to do should be fine as long as you stop at least two weeks before trying to conceive.
